Its proven small block V-8 offers excellent power and features our exclusive Turn Key Starting (TKS) system, along with a host of other standard MerCruiser Tow Sports inboard features. With MerCruiser's exclusive TKS system, standard on all carbureted engines, no longer will you have to deal with the hassle of starting a cold engine. Simply turn the key – no choke, pumping or priming required. In fact, the entire MerCruiser gas engine lineup features turn key starting, whether the engine is fuel-injected or carbureted. No other engine manufacturer can match that.

The 5.7 MPI Tow Sports inboard is built to deliver knock-out torque with uncompromised reliability. Like all the Multiport Injection (MPI) engines from MerCruiser, the 5.7 MPI is designed to tow skiers and riders all day long on easy–to-find and affordable 87 octane fuel. The 5.7 MPI also delivers a host of friendly features such as remote oil filters, easy oil drain systems and optional single-point water drain systems to maximize your time on and off the water. In addition, the 5.7 MPI is available in an EC, or Emissions Control version, certified to the state of California 4-Star Super-Ultra Low Emissions level. EC models utilize state-of-the-art marine-specific catalytic converters and an ultra-powerful ignition and fuel control system that monitors vital engine systems and environmental inputs, adjusting to consistently produce maximum power with minimum exhaust emissions.

The Scorpion 350 engines are here with a vengeance. Sporting a Tunnel Ram intake manifold and a 90-mm throttle body, no other tow sports engine can deliver the sting of a Scorpion. Scorpions are not all brawn – equipped with the ECM 555 Controlled Area Network they make the entire vessel an intelligent system. Drawing its heritage from the Mercury® Racing 377 Scorpion, the Scorpion 377 is a torque-beast designed to pull like nothing else. The 6.2L has the stroke to produce the best stump-pulling torque from a small block V-8. Why high torque instead of big power? Because it takes torque, not power at high rpm, to deliver the throttle response you want with a fully ballasted boat.
